ROUTE 17 SOUTHBOUND CLOSED IN GLOUCESTER COUNTY
Multi-vehicle crash has closed both southbound lanes near Burleigh Road intersection; Northbound lanes remain open
UPDATE: Route 17 southbound has reopened in Gloucester County following an earlier crash near the intersection with Burleigh Road. The detour route has been lifted.
UPDATE: A detour route has been established for Route 17 southbound traffic approaching the Burleigh Road intersection in Gloucester County. Southbound traffic is being detoured to Route 615 (Short Lane) to Route 629 (T.C. Walker Road), and back to Route 17 southbound.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 17 southbound in Gloucester County is closed near the intersection of Burleigh Road for a multi-vehicle crash.
Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are assisting with traffic control at the scene, and are preparing to set up a detour route.
