JONES CREEK LANDING DOCK CLOSING TODAY IN RICHMOND COUNTY
Dock at the end of Route 638 will close today, July 18 for public safety

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Jones Creek Landing dock, built in 1932, at the end of Route 638 (Jones Creek Road) will close today, July 18, for public safety.

A Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) bridge crew are removing deck boards, as well as placing closure signs and fencing to prevent pedestrians from using the dock.

After its most recent underwater inspection, VDOT determined the 91-year-old dock needs to close for the public's safety. It will remain closed until a new facility is established in 2024.
