FAIRFAX – Nightly lane closures continue this week on I-66 in both directions around the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail station for demolition of the Vaden Drive bridge deck over westbound I-66 and bridge piers along eastbound I-66. Traffic will be narrowed to a single lane and diverted to the eastbound and westbound collector-distributor roads during these overnight closures.

Details include:

Sunday, Nov. 10, through Saturday, Nov. 16:
I-66 West from Gallows Road to Nutley Street

• One lane of westbound I-66 will close at 9 p.m.
• Two lanes will close at 10 p.m.
• All through lanes of westbound I-66 will close at 11 p.m.
• Between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on weekdays (6 a.m. on weekends), all westbound traffic will be diverted to the Nutley Street collector-distributor road
• All lanes will be reopened by 5 a.m. weekdays, and by 9 a.m. on weekends

Wednesday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 15:
I-66 East from Route 123 to Nutley Street

• One lane of eastbound I-66 will close at 9 p.m.
• Two lanes will close at 10 p.m.
• All through lanes of eastbound I-66 will close at 11 p.m.
• Between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on weekdays (6 a.m. on weekends), all eastbound traffic will be diverted to the Nutley Street collector-distributor road.
• All lanes will be reopened by 5 a.m. weekdays, and by 9 a.m. on weekends
• All work is weather dependent, and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
