FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Sunday, October 17, through Saturday, October 23
Ramp from Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East, exit to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road), stay to the left on the exit and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 234 Business North, then stay to the left and turn left at the next traffic signal to I-66 West.

Monday, October 18, and Tuesday, October 19
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville North and South
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured farther east to the exit to Route 28 North, stay to the left to exit to Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal onto Braddock Road West, follow signs to turn left to the ramp to I-66 West, then exit to Route 29 Centreville.   

Ramp from Route 29 North and South Centreville to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Southbound traffic will be directed farther south past the closed exit, make a U-turn at Stone Road, exit to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East. Route 29 North traffic will be directed to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to exit the interstate (prior to the Route 28 North exit) to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North.

Thursday night, October 21, and Friday night, October 22
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay to the right to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Monday night, October 18, through Thursday night, October 21
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue north to the exit to Route 7 East, travel about one mile, and then follow signs to I-66 East.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
